I look at a customized bike without Hot Toppers as unfinished.
There isn't one piece of zinc hardware on my bike.

just my .02 cents, but

I purchased a complete set of polished SS bolts off ebay for about $70. from alloyboyz. very nice kit each bolt sealed and labeled. more bolts than i care to change. crazy that you can buy SS polished bolts cheaper than a plastic cover!!!!

As long as you don't do much work on your bike, they are fine. They look good and you CAN reuse them, but it is an extra step. Mechanics hate 'em so I am told.

Yeah, they're like crack. Got just the engine kit and about drove myself nuts getting them where they go and cussing a blue streak whenever I had to retrieve one from the engine area, but they are a very nice finishing touch. Paid $129 for just the engine set and now one of you tells me you can get them off of eBay for about half. [>:]

Hot toppers are a great addition to any bike. I have them on my 99 softail for severalyears. There are some of the toppers that you have to use silicone with, but not many. As far as reusable, I have never had to replace one due to taking it off a bolt. I believe hot toppers has a replacement warrenty for them if the chrome covering cracks or peels. Chrome bolts look good however if you don't get ever drop of water out of the holes when you wash it they will rust with time. With the toppers they cover the hole on the end of the nut or bolt, much better in my opinion. The only downside is some shops won't reinstall them after taking them off to work on your bike.

I changed all my bolts to chrome allens, did them one at a time, no leaks so far. I like the hardware look myself.
