Default Clutchless shifting

Ok, we all know that clutchless shifting is cool ( when you have the right stuff installed!), but how about when you do something stupid like shift into first on your brand new Fatboy and simply forget to pull the clutch lever in. Well,, I did that and she abruptly died. Stupid thing to do but I was too busy thinking about my exit plan from a crowded Harley lot and , well, stupid. Seems to be ok, but any chance I screwed up anything? Dumb, Dumb, Dumb. Thanks, Steve

Thanks. You know how it is, you start to hear things you think are new , but were always there , etc... Probablly be a while before that happens again. I appreciate the vote of confidence. Thanks

I think we all have done that at some time or another. I know I have, especially going thru the gears and having my head up my....well you get the idea. I don't think if it happens often it will hurt anything. I guess I will find out if and when I rebuild my tranny.

Done it before. I got my 07' Deluxe in July of 06'. It is my first bike and I had a lot to learn. I did it once or twice that year. Yea you look stupid if front of other people, but other than your pride being hurt, you shouldn't have any problems. At least you didn't drop it and have to ask other people to help you pick it up.

Like they said its happened to nearly everyone at one time or another. Fortunatly because of theengines abundance of low end torque the tranny's in Harleys are designed to betough and resiliant boxes. They are more than capable oftakingabuse that would shred the gears on many a Metric.
