Default Deluxe owners wanna save money?

If you like the stock seat but want a little more room and you don't want to fork out the money for a corbin or any other seat.....here's what I did. There is a guy "Don's auto upholstery" (Fayetteville, N.C. right outside the Ft Bragg gate on Bragg Blvd for all my locals) who came highly recommended by HD, Steel Dreams, and Southeast Cycles here in Fayetteville. I stopped by last week with the scoot and showed him the changes I wanted. I dropped the seat off Tuesday morning and he called me at about 5pm Tuesday evening. I saw the change to form and he explained what he did--and I gave him $80

He told me to ride it for a while and if I didn't like it bring it back and he'll change my dislikes free of charge.............well I rode it the last two days (mid 60's in N.C.) and I feel a difference just sitting on it. I have more leg room and the handlebars seem a little further out. He said he put me down so that I would feel "in the bike" and back some. I think I will leave it as it is...he said he come go back further by remounting the chrome bar a little further back

Just sharing--especially to my Deluxe owners

oohh---I don't endorse, warranty, or share a business interest with Don's................He just saved me lots of money

I could post a pic..but it may be hard to see a difference with the naked eye. I really couldn't see it until I went to HD yesterday and looked at the one parked right beside me.........But if you need a pic...I'll post one later tonight......Us military folk are off and it's 68 degrees today

Yes, he took the skin off and shaved the seat. I didn't watch him do mine; but he was doing one each time I went in to see him and he showed me how he was doing it. It was kinda like a drimmel. I wish I could go get his photo albums and post his work. He had about 3 albums full of custom jobs he did. He does motorcycle seats--but his business is mostly autos. He will redo an entire auto with whatever type of leather and design you want....he does tv screens in the the headrests and even in the center of the steering wheel (which is illegal in most states). Again, I'm not endorsing him---but considering that he was in a small garage that doesn't look very business like and he works alone---I was impressed.

I posted pics--but I don't know if you will be able to see the difference with the naked eye. My neighbor who sat on my bike when I first got it said it was a little too close----he sat on it today and rode it in the neighborhood and was impressed.

Bandit, what did you have done to the passenger seat? That's a great idea. I didn't add any gel or anything--I actually didn't think of that either. I would love to have a backrest though---which would probaly take me back to corbin anway for the longer rides. 3 days??? That's quick turn around Got any pics?

I love the deluxe but I'm worried about the leg stretch.

I'm 5' 8" with a 32 1/2 inch inseam ( in otherwords long legs, short body).
I feel like my legs are cramped but the handle bars are good.

After seeing your post I was wondering how tall you are
and I don't want to get personal but any chance
you can tell me your inseam? [&:]

Did sitting bak affect you reach to the handle bars?

Still a newbie and been asking lots of questions.
