Do you have to put the reflector on the tri-bar light? I wasn't sure if there was a law that said it had to be there, and I kind of like the look without it, so I left it off (kept it, just in case). There are two orange reflective screw covers that hold my plate on, so I figured they would suffice if there was a law stating that I had to have it on there.

You don't "HAVE" to put the reflector on. But it does cover a pair of screws and it is another way for the idiot behind you to see you better at night.

Hey All, thanks for your comments.

The dealer ended up installing the light for me. Wish they didn't because they charged me 2hrs labour for doing it. I am pretty sure I got burned on that one.
**** me off!!

Ouch. For somebody who has never done it before (me), it took between 30 min and an hour, but that was because I was looking at all different kinds of things while I was doing it. For somebody who knows what they are doing (dealer) that couldn't take more than 10 minutes. Hate to hear that, man.

Quick question... not sure if this has been asked yet or not, but is the license bracket removable? (i mean without taking a hacksaw to it). I have a side mount license plate and am considering purchasing the tri-bar because it looks cool as hell, but I don't want to have to saw off the bracket.

If your talking about the led tri-bar light .then yes bracket is easily removeable without any cutting.
Just taken mine off and sold it on E-bay as i am going with a heartland kit, i was real sorry as i thought this light was superb.
As for 2hrs labour to install one at a dealers i say HARLEY NOVA has been totally ripped off.
i have no mechanical tools i do everything witrh my plumbing kit and only took an hour
