RE: '06 Springer Classic vs. '06 Softail Deluxe
I was torn between the Deluxe and the Springer as well. I like the springer front end but I didn't like the exhaust pipes set-up on it. My wife said get the Deluxe and I figured if she was letting me spend 20k on a motorcycle I should go with what she thought was best. Of course the Deluxe was Black and the Springer Classic was blue. I just saw the Springer Classic in Black and boy that bike is sharp.
Like others have said you can't go wrong with either one. I went to my local dealer today and they didn't have a single softail in stock so it might be what one is available. Although I was up in Delaware the other day and the dealer up there had every bike in every color available. But they wanted way too much money.

I vote for the springer. Why? well its simple, It is a true classic, they will likely stop making them soon as they are not a huge seller making them rare and maybe a collectable. The deluxe, well its a (pretty) bike and well if you've seen one heritage youv'e seen them all. No offence to you heritage, heritage classic and heritage/deluxe owners. Them and fatboys have flooded the market.

it took me 6 months to decide which bike i liked. im kinda like yourself i like them all. make your own decision. you have to pay for it.lol I originally wanted street glide then idecided onthe 2007 springer but i do like the deluxe. next one will be a electra glide. the reason for my change was my style of riding more short tours as oppose to long hauls.and my mrs has no interest in travelling via 2 wheels. GOOD LUCK!!!
