The only thing that the Springer has that I liked was the dual exhaust. But I am workin my own retro thing!

hsuwol,
LOL! Funny. I posted that picture about a week ago and didn't say anything about it. I just wanted to see how long before somebody chimed in and made a comment. It took only a week.

The Roadhouse pipes are really retro in appearance, the look I was going for. The Sound is very deep & mello, no harsh high tones. Sound gets better with age as the packing burns in. The install was fairly tricky to do, I can only imagine most other pipes would be easier to install. Once you stop worrying about the stainless steel flex pipe covers going that golden color then your only trouble in keeping the two piece hex nut top clamps from coming down like a cheep pair of socks. I still like this pipe, considering all the greif it gives, it is still the biggest conversation piece in the parking lot, bar none.

Well I do believe brilliant and my name have never been mentioned in the same sentence before! Appreciate the compliment and thanks for the welcome. This site has been the best site (or worst to my pocket book) that I've have stumbled across in long time...........opinions on engine guards and highway pegs have cost me $300 clams in the last month alone...........

hsuwol,
LOL! Funny. I posted that picture about a week ago and didn't say anything about it. I just wanted to see how long before somebody chimed in and made a comment. It took only a week. I'm sure you've noticed that virtually nobody on this forum has actual pictures of themselves for their avatar (very few people). Of the one's that do, even fewer have an everyday photo. So the part that I find amusing is the "image thing". As you pointed out, the photo doesn't "look" HOG material which confirms my belief that appearances are as much riding the bike itself. It's not enough to own and ride a Harley, but you have to look the part to. Over the years I've noticed the type of people who buy HD's have changed. I've met and work with many career professional types, like myself who own Harley's and enjoy the whole experience. It's just funny to see someone in suit/tie one minute and jeans/leathers the next. Most of the people on this forum, if you met them in person probably would not fall in to the "HOG type" category, which is why you see so few photos of themselves as they actually are...real everday people. It's amusing don't you think? It's like if you look the part, then you fit in and are accepted, even if that's not who you really are. It's like acting.... Get dressed up, put on a tough look and be a "Bad Boy" for the day...while sipping a Caramel Machiatto at Starbuck's. Then drive home to your house in the suburbs, kiss the wife and child and go to the office the next day. Thank you for bringing the subject up, I needed a laugh this morning.
See you on the road.

Nice comeback. I'm a licensed CPA and a 1st degree black belt in taekwondo instructor. Pretty radical career choice differences. I've been riding British Iron - Triumphs - - and ready to add a Springer to the garage, but will not part with the Triumph ever. Since you have a Harley already, try a test ride on the Rocket. Highly ridable and power that you can't even begin to imagine.

I saw a Springer Classic in Denver last fall that was really tricked out; fishtail exhausts, whitewalls, beach bars, solo seat (old style with springs - like on a hardtail), driving lights, luggage rack...etc...it was a classy looking bike and I wish I could afford one myself.

Thanks for the comments........seems our tastes are similar. I struggled back and forth over the Springer or the RKC......in the end it came down to that front end........Couldn't help but notice the location of your highway pegs.....took me awhile but ended up in about the same spot......sure does give plenty of foot placement options doesn't it......?
