Default new bars with stock cables

I'm sure this has been asked before but can I put a taller set of bars on mt 07 fxstc without changing my cables. The stock bars are 12 high. I'm thinking of going to 14 or 16 inches?? I know there is some extra slack in the cables but not sure how much. Anyone try this before??

Thanks.JB

try Wild 1, it will tell you f it will work. but keep in mind "will work with your stock bars", dont mean it will look good.....trust me my $100.00 bars are $500 bars now.....Oh well they look good.

Thanks, I'll give them a try. I know that eventually I will want to change everythng else but if I could sneak a few inches out for now I would be happy. I also realized that my stock bars are 10 inch not 12.

Thanks.

I have an 07 fxstc and put 16" apes on. Had to get all new cables, etc. as the stock were too tight.

I doubt there will be enough slack for anything bigger then the stocks. I moved my stock custom bars forward a bit and that was pushing it especially with the hard brake line. Let me know if it works out for ya.
