Thundermax with Autotune if money is no object. It will save you from a dyno tune and if the person was not good at doing it and also will tune you at 100% and keep tuning as you drive and as the engine wears and if you change pipes later.

Duhh.... You already answered that above.... I guess the next best thing is a fuel management systemwith a dyno tune. Is the Harley Download really that bad? What are the negatives?

Move. if that is not an option then you could try the power commander for California but i bet it will still run too hot. air cooled engines are not made to run 14.7 AFR. I think you will see Harley water cooled like the V Rod in all larger models. I just checked their web site and they no longer offer the EPA fuel management. Your only choice is run lean or break the law and install one.
My bad. Found this link.

I think I'm going to get the non-EPA version and see how that goes. I think I'm going to go with the EPA pipes though, I already have a pair of EPA 80db SE Catalyst mufflers that came with the take off pipes I got, but I think I want the Non-Catalyst SE mufflers on my bike.

Go with the Thundermax. You can always set it for 14.7 when getting inspected and then change it back. The new Vance and Hines QB are supposed to be Cal legal and have the EPA noise stamp on them and I hear they sound good. You can always remove the baffle and the Thundermax will re-tune it and then put them back for inspection.

I just put new pipes on my '07 FXSTC and saw the same thing when I removed the heat shields, those suckas were ugly discolored, that's why HD cover 'em up. I hope with the PCIII and Dyno tuning that these pipes will not blue as bad.
