Chrome swingarm covers for an 07 FXSTC?
Does anyone know where to get chrome swingarm covers for an 07 softail custom. I called Kuryakyn and the covers they have, they say, won't fit. Just curious if anyone has found them somewhere else or if the Kuryakyns can be modified to fit...thanks.

RE: Chrome swingarm covers for an 07 FXSTC?
The cover from kury your looking for to suit your bike are part no 8108, these need to be used in conjuntion with your own rear axle covers or kuryaken axle covers part no 8200.
An 08 rear swing arm is different to an 07 same shape frame end but completely different axle mount area.
Just keep in mind depending on how fussy you are that the covers only go around the arm about 210 degrees and when looking from the top of the bike you can still see the black of the rear of the arm. Plus with an open rim on the back you will see. I went for the chrome swing arm for this reason

RE: Chrome swingarm covers for an 07 FXSTC?
I had HD chrome axle covers put on my 07 FXSTC the other day.
I tried to fit my self but they did not seem to fit as weld on frame seemed to be where covers were going.
My dealer installed them for me. Had to grind part of the cover where they go over the welds. They said as all the welds are different from bike to bike sometimes need to grind a bit on the cover to go over the weld. They look good IMO.
Pics for you to look at.
Hope this helps

RE: Chrome swingarm covers for an 07 FXSTC?
Glasgow I am 99% positive that these will fit your bike. I am using the boomerang covers off an 06 Softail on my 07 Deuce that kuryakyn were adamant that would not fit. Because the 07 was made out to be so special when it was released with the 6 speed etc, most companies left there brochures and catologues to suit 06 because they were unsure. Classic example is every time I go into my dealer and ask for a certain part they all stare at me and say " that part is not listed in the book as a part for your bike why would you want to try this". I say " Ever heard of thinking outside of the square."
Here is an example for all the softail lovers out there. In the harley motor accesories book part no 63020-04 is a braided stainless efi fuel line to suit a dyna. It will fit all efi softails exc deuce and it looks fantastic. the dealer will tell you it wont fit. We put one on a 07 FXSTS.
The covers only cover about 210 degrees of the arm. When looking down from the top of the bike you can see the back part of the arm. Same goes if you have an open rim on the rear you will see the back of the swingarm. The chrome swing arm is more expensive but the above reasons are why I went this way.
Do a search on the forum and ask for others who are using these or email Kury direct.
