Default Front Forks

I'm looking to buy a used windshield and I'm curious as to if/when the fork spacing changed on the Softail/Night Train/FXSTB. I cant get a part # for the one I'm looking at buying. I have a 2007.

Thanks

thats not the one I was looking at but I wish that I would have seen that one up for auction.....better luck next time I guess. So I take it that the fork spacing has remained the same for years?

I noticed that some windshields details say that they only fit Softails that through 2006. I thought the fork spacing has always been the same....if anyone can clarify this that would be great.

Thanks

didnt the front forks change in 2006 from 39mm to 41mm thick? also arent some olderforks narrower than the wide glide forks on newer 06 later bikes. if your buying second hand i would get measure your bikes forks and get the measurment for the windshield before spending the $$$

there are no softail front ends with 39mm front ends. those have always been reserved for the sporty and dyna models.

there was a change in front ends in '06, but that was moving the dyna's away from the 39mm front end to a larger diameter. there was no signifivant change to the softail front ends for that year. or any year, this millenium.

eBay Item #320234544381 is a good example of a windshield that states:

IT WAS REMOVED FROM A 2005 FXST SOFTAIL WHEN THE BIKE WAS NEAR NEW.I AM SURE THIS WILL FIT OTHER YEARS AND MODELS AS WELL.NOTED AS FITTING 84 UP ALL FXST,FXSTB,FXSTC SOFTAIL MODELS 1984 TO 2006.

this tells me that something chnaged from 06-07. Anyone know whats up with that?
