I had some covers fitted the other day. I tried to fit these but they would not fit over the weld on the swingarm. Dealer had to grid out the gap to make them fit. They advised due to the diffences in the welds from one bike to another they sometimes don't fit straight away.

Just a note on 07 and 08 swingarms. they are totally different design at the back and that is why they have a new cover for the 08 models.
I have included a couple of pics of my covers on. hope helps.

Regards Greg

These should fit:

HD part number: 48109-03A
Fits '87-'07 Softail® models (except '06-'07 FXST, FXSTB, FXSTC, FXSTS, and FLSTFSE2). (Will not fit with Saddlebags).

They did on my '07 anyway, but I had the shop do it while it was in for the 1,000 service.

I put a set on my '06 Fatboy and they did not go on quietly - very tight fit. Had to break out the rubber mallet.

Good Morning 07 J/E FatBoy...

I put a set of 48112-00 covers on my Fat Boy (http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US) and swapped out the swing arm for a chrome version at the same time. I did the work myself. The left side went on fine, but the right side had to be modified slightly with my bench grinder. The area which had to becut does not show and only takes a few minutes.

The covers look great and really clean up the back end!

If you would like...send me a PM and I'll take a couple of close ups with my digital to give you a better idea of what you need to do.

BTW...get the covers at Zanotti (https://www.zanottimotor.com/shopping/partLookUp.html). Their prices are hardto beat!

Steve

WOW, I tell you, you guys are awesome, thanks for all the great comments and suggestions!

I'm leanind either to go with '48109-03A' the ones that Texas Fat Boy (Les) has (I really like them), or the ones that seem to be a bit or work (but I'm up for it); '48112-00', so the ones that SCJE8 (Steve) and a bunch of others have.

Again, let me thank you all for all your recommendations, I really do appriciate it!

any BTW: NC Pirate, Super nice bike you got there... LOL... I just put some Vance Hines, Big Radius (with the HD Race Tuner) on my Jake and Elwood Fatboy (thus the need to cover up the axle nuts/rear end).. Man, I love the look, sound and extra torque... It's like a new bike.
