whats up with my nuts?

whats up with my nuts?
I figured that would get the attention of some of you.
Put my VH BSS on and noticed that the exhuast nuts, at the heads, are coming loose. I read anotherthread on this and some said to double nut or use out of round nuts. I am trying lock washers. Didnt see any mention of this but I would think they would work. Have not had a chance to ride the bike again since installing the washers but has anyone else tried lock washers. If so did it fix the problem? I hope and think it will.

RE: whats up with my nuts?
I used the torque setting in my shop manual of 120 inch lbs. So I dont know how I didnt get them tight enough? I am not following how I could get it any tighter without going outside of the torque specs and snapping the stud in the head. Is there something I missed? I did not fully torque each nut. I tightened each one a bit a until they were torqued. I figured this would keep things even and not introduce pressure or a twist.

Not sure why they won't stay tight. I also used the 1/4 turn on each nut after squaring the flange but used a 1/4" drive ratchet and lubed the threads first. The nuts on mine had a tendency to seize on the flange and not tighten until lubed with never seize. That could be happening in your case giving a false torque reading. I have just installed the BBS also.

blue locktite didnt just melt away? May try that if this doesnt work. Going to check them after the next ride. I figure riding the bike heatand vibration cycles everything enough to see if will stay. Ill let you know. I also used a 1/4" socket since my torque wrench is that size. thanks guys.
