hi,I just ordered anew fatboy and wonder would the quick release screen from my 96 roadking fit if I get a docking kit,or would i need a softail screen,is the front on the 08 fatboy different ie wider than the 06,05etc or will the older screen fit my new bike

 

don't think so...I have a Deluxe and I know the docking mechanism is diff...say from the RK... I would venture to say the FB would be similiar to other softails.......

 

Not sure about a 96 RK but a 2005 RK Custom the forks are wider so I dont think you can use the same windshield.

 

Dont think that it will fit on your new bike

 

would one from an older softail fl fit or would i need a new one for the 2008,any recomendations on wher to buy a new or good used quick release screen online?

I think it is going to come down to WHICH shield you want to put on.

For my '08 Fatboy, I am using a HD shield model that came out in 2005:

Low Profile, smoked windshield #57141-05 $389.95

The last two digits of any HD part number tell the YEAR the part was introduced.
