I just went through a similar process with my Fatboy but it was related to a mileage discrepancy. Just have to deal with it. People make mistakes but it sounds like yours was huge. j

Not a big deal. This just happened to me as well. Just stop in at your local DMV and apply for a corrected title.

Whatever the letters & numbers are on the frame they should match the title. End of story. If not, they should change it. Should be a no brainer for them.

I'm sure the dealer charges to do title paper work, they all do.
In Texas it's a fixed fee by the state.

Take it back and tell them to fix it. Nicely though, no need to make a sceen or anything.
If the people who did the paper work balk, then find the owner and tell him.
It'll get fixed. Owners hate incompetence.

Get the dealer to fix asap.

Not title or MC related but here is something similar that happend in my truck:
I got stopped for rolling through a stop sign, had 2 clients in the truck, I joke about how we'll end up in jail.

Lot's of time, pointed questions and very nervous LEO now making me nervous. Comes back and says, "If that tag had come back stolen you would be looking at the wrong end of my gun"
Long story short - tag # and renewal sticker # did not match! Had the truck for 10 years and never noticed. Dealer had sent us tags for the wrong truck and we just kept renewing every year.
Was luckyno one robbed a bank in the wrong truck.

Dealer got my bug smashed tag the next day!
Soooo, don't get stopped by someone who knows a FL from a FX - get it fixed now.
