The best looking bikes were built in the 40's and 50's. Nothing wrong with going for that look on your twin cam, that's why I ride a road king. Most of those great lookin knuckheads and panheads were chopped up in the 60's and 70's anyway.

What's next? KNUCKLEHEAD boxes for the Twinkies? [:'(][:'(][:'(]
If anyone comes out with those, I'm gettin a set for my Train!!!!

Personally, I love the retro look, because I love the old bikes. The real deal are scarce, and expensive, not to mention finicky. I doubt I'd go on a 3000 mile road trip on an old Pan or Knuckle, simply because I wouldn't want to wreck it, and frankly, I don't think I could count on it to not break down. I'd love to have an old Knuckle for riding around town though!

It's cool that HD gives a nod to the old school with the reliability of 100,000 mile motors!

Cheers!

First post here guy's and I too love the retro look. Not only are the bikes of today more Reliable but ride much smoother and are just as durable as the old school bike's. Since the Fatboy came out the Japanese saw a market to tap and get some of H-D bus. with their own version of retro style, its not even close in looks and sound. Which tells me that you can try to replicate but you can't duplicate a Harley. Thats my .02 worth.
