Leave the past where it belongs? Or does it belong in the present. Cross bones I say welcome to the softail family.
Do you have a picture of your Rocker to show? Your the first one on this forum with a Rocker that I know of. I'd love to see a pic. How do you like it?

I grew up in a nieghborhood in the 1970'sthat had a biker gang just up the street. Those guys were sometimes scary to us kids, however they were usualy very nice people and they had some cool looking bikes. The problem was that as cool as those bikes looked, they were always broken. Those guys were constantly working on those bikes, mostly out of neccesity. A few of those fellows still live around here and I see one of them from time to time, most of them don't ride anymore, however they still love bikes.
This summer when I got my first HARLEY DAVIDSON SPORTSTER, he stopped me and went on about how much fun I was going to have on that bike. I then traded that SPORTSTER in for my dream bike a 2008 HARLEY DAVIDSON FATBOY. Both awesome bikes and great conversation starters.
I guess what I am trying to say is that those fellows would have loved there vintage looking bikes with the technology that todays bikes have fuel injection, computer contols, safer brakes, better suspension and all the things that we take for granted. All HARLEYS are great and the inspiration and knowledge that the moco learns from every bike they make only helps the new bikes get all the more awesome.

Can't agree with you on that one. As the young kid sitting next to me at the Van Halen concert earlier this month said to me, "Retro is in, sir." (And yes, I resisted the urge to strangle him...barely! lol) They've got retro looking Mustangs, retro looking T-Birds, retro looking Challengers and Camaros on the way. Will it "cheapen" the true vintage models? Not at all. I think anyone with an ounce of sense would rather have an original '68 Mustang GT Fastback, than a retro '08. At least I know I would. However affording the updated version is hard enough. Check out the Barrett-Jackson auctions lately? Only guys with surnames like Gates can afford the real thing nowadays.

Well, I kind of like my '97 Heritage Springer and I also like my '03 Ultra Classic too
They play well together, and I can leave them alone and their OK with that too.

And she rides so nice to. Regardless of where you think she belongs, She Belong to me.

I think the retro look pays tribute to the last century and also gives us all a chance to own the look. I am all for it
