Am I missing something here? What is this post really trying to say? That the past should belong in the past? That change is good, but not really? That a tube amplifier sounds better as long as your not playing cassettes? That the Seahawks will never win a Super Bowl? But seriously, don't we all yearn for simpler times, and things that remind us of them?
By the way nikonf8, that is a sharp looking ride!

I for one am into classic styling in everything. I designed my'06rideafter vintage rides from H-D's past.............I also own and drive around town a 37 year old 1971 MG B Roadster (British Racing Green, of course) that turns more heads than any car I've ever owned.
It's all about design......................and great designs from the past will never die!!!!! They just get resurrectedwith modern technical advancements.
Great styling lives forever!!!!! Long live the Springer!!!!!!!

Leave the past where it belongs? Or does it belong in the present. Cross bones I say welcome to the softail family.

right now they say the average Harley owner is 45 years old. second the biggest group in the us right now is the baby boomers who are all close to 60 years old or more. with that being said it makes sense to produce something that would appeal to this group. also most of that group is still working and should be at the peak making a decent buck. Harley wants to sell bikes with that group being the prime target and the largest its a good idea. If you watch any TV you see cadillac using a led zeppelin song on there advertising and others using songs to target that same group the ones who should have the money to buy. In 20 years yo will be hearing snoop dog on the ads. drummer3278 thanks for the kind words

Aren't all "V-Twins" sort of a retro look?
It's not popular because they are a better engineering design.
The bikes are more ride able now, with modern technology.
You can pretty much take off cross country now.
I remember back in the 70’s and 80’s the Harley’s either broke down or had parts falling off of them just on daily rides.
