That was one of the first things that was replaced. I can't believe they would sell a bike with that crappy piece of plastic right under your nose and in full view of the public eye! No problems though with fitting it to the bike. Had a little problem parting with the money to do it!

I 100% agree. I told the stealer to "throw one in" (like anything is really free from them). I told them the same thing...that piece o plastic is an embarrassment. It had the leather panel on ASAP. The thing is...this desert sun wilted that thing up in no time. I then put on the chrome panel (That comes on the 06 fattys). Been good to go ever since.

RE: tank panel
I ditched my plastic panel for a studded leather tank panel with pouch to match the bags and seat.Looks a lot better but cant fit bugger all in the pouch though and the medallion they use aint chromed and now looks a bit dull- a bit of autosol fixes that though.
Still anything is better than the stocky.

RE: tank panel
One of my luckiest days at the stealership was finding a new leather panel on the clearance table with a $5 price tag. It made up for the three stupid looks and scratched heads when I asked about a headlamp trim ring. The catolog doesn't list one for a '93 FLSTF. I lucked out when a customer happened to have run into the same "problem" and assured me that the one listed for a '94 will fit.
