cruise control
A female friend of mine has a Heritage Classic. She rode to Sturgis last year (yep rode not trailered) and is looking forward to a return trip plus going to the Dragon. She has the twist **** and a throttle paddle, but really wants cruise control. Anyone install this on a softail before, is it more involved than installing it on a Geezer glide?

RE: cruise control
Does she want a real "Cruise ControL"?
Or a "Trottle Lock"?
For a real cruise control check this out:

or just go to

I think the Cruise Mount one uses stock Harley parts.

RE: cruise control
50sboy has one too, and its not cheap either at about $200.
But it does look like a well designed and well made unit.

RE: cruise control
I have the one from www.cruisemount.com. Quality product, quality people. A REAL cruise control, not a throttle lock. I did a lot of research before I bought, and theirs is was a much cleaner installation, with no sodiering, cutting, splicing, etc. Plus it is the ONLY one that uses the genuine Harley Davidson cruise control. If I ever have a problem, I can go to any Harley dealer and they wil know how to fix it.

RE: cruise control
Was going to go the cruise control on my Heritage but the $800 wasn't worth it. Went instead with the Kuryakyn electro-magnetic throtle lock for $179, which includes the Iso grips, chrome blades for clutch and brake, wiring and module. Easy install (3-4 hours) and works great. Releases with either brake or clutch pull/push.

i am not very mechanical or technical so i am going to try this...i was riding with a bud who had this lever. it was attached to the daisy wheel looking thing under the throttle. when he wanted to rest his throttle hand he just moved it out and it locked the throttle position. does anyone know WTF im talking about, because i would like to just have that for long rides. i have had bikes with electronic cruise control and only used it when i was on long straight roads anyway
