I was torn between the standard and mustache for my 08 Heritage.I finally decided on the mustache simply because they have a built in footrest and I thought I might be able avoid the cost of adding footpegs to the standard bars.
However I find I don't use them much. This may be because I haven't done any long runs yet or it may be that the footrests are too high. Jury is still out on that question. But I can always add lower pegs to the bars if I decide to do so.
If I could test drive them all, then I would not get stupid answers like yours. In fact, I would like to see a deluxe with each type of bars, and maybe I will.
Depends on the bike. Different bikes look better with different engine guards. For instance, the nastolgic bar looks better on the Softail Deluxe while the mustache bar looks better on the Heritage. I can't answer your poll because there is no right answer!
On some bikes a crashbar fits right in, on others it looks like an odd appendage. It also depends on the confidence of the rider and how much you are willing to risk.
I like the Lindby Bars. Very effective, but not so visible. I think the baggers look better with the standard bars.
The sig shows the Lindby's with Chilhowee's lowers. Keep the feet warm on cold riding days.
I just put a mustache guard on my 07 deluxe this saturday. I like the looks of it and i went for a test ride and put my feet up on the foot rests and was very comfortable and im 6'1". not cramped at all
