Default Headlight Tin

Replacing the chrome headlight tin on my 96 fatboy. The reason for replacement is most of the chrome cracked and chipped off on the left side. After removing the light bar mount to get to the headlight tin, I think that is what caused the chrome to crack. Metal on metal. Do you think it would be a good idea to place some type of felt adhevise or padding between the light bar mount and the headlight tin? Seems to me this would help reduce the chances of the chrome cracking again. Thanks for any input.

Default RE: Headlight Tin

Sounds like it may help, but don't forget some locktite on the bolts so they don't back out.
