Default Bigg Muff

Hi, I'm new here so this has propably been asked before so irregardless here is my query. I am interested in a pair of V&H Long Shots but I am looking for something that increases the Db level but not too drastically. Just a few over stock. Any one know of such a product? Also I was loking at a Kuryakin Hyper charger.......Do you have to remap the EFI after installation? And one last question. If I was to go with the V&H Long Shots and the hyper charger(rated gain of 7-9 hp) how much hp would I loose with the Long Shots.

Thanks,

i have vance and hines longshots on my 90 fxstc. i think there perfect. loud enough but enough to make you go deaf. whats nice is that they exist way out back, so even the passenger isnt bothered by the noise. the only problem i found with them is in a right lean turn, they scrape and my bike isnt lowered, but you get use to how far to lean.

I have V&H Longshots on my 99 and they sound better than most I have heard. They're definately worth the money.

you will need a remap on any pipe you install. I dont see the long shots cousing a power loss. And dont expect the hp gains with hypercharger. Numbers are inflated.

Put the air cleaner and the pipes you want one and then get a remap. It will run fine.

The title of this tread is somewhat misleading.

I have Longshots on my '04 and think the noise level is about right. V&H doesn't off the quiet baffle for the Longshots and I don't know of any other options for baffles that are quieter.

Hey Folks, Thanks for the input. Sorry for the title but it isn't so misleading just for those of us that are always thinking with our..........drive train. So the Hyper charger is over rated? Thats a shame, Is there another someone can recomend that might give a small increase and for the pipes I think I will get myself a pair. I had a set of Screamin Eagle Balony cuts and the DB level was good but they had such a pathetic phhhhtp sound. Someone had mentioned that it was the EFI I was hearing.

No you dont have to do a remap on every pipe install !!! I did the Vance & Hines big radius and the Screamin Eagle air cleaner on my 06 FXSTI, I went ahead and bought the race tuner...but when they did the dyno it ran smooth and I gained about 11 horse so they didnt need the tuner or a remap.(gave me my money back).bike runs great !!! So dont let the stealer sell you something you dont need !

Is not remapping really advisable? If you don't what can happen?
