I agree that if the bikes been taken care of 16K isnt all that bad. Id rather someone put 16K of good miles than 1,000 hard driving miles!

That's really nice.

A little more than a year ago I bought my 2002 Deuce from a private party. It also had custom factory tins, 57/150, and more than $4k in extras. I paid $12k for it which seems a little high but the guy who bought it new had receipts for more than $22k so it came down to total cash outlay and total depreciation for me over time. It had 3600 miles on it and was mint. The original owner was in his 70's and everything around his place was immaculate.

Some would say I paid too much but at least I'm not the one who lost the first ten grand.

Some would also say the 2002 was about the best year of the twinkie. It was after some problems were sorted out but it still has the Timken bearings in the bottom end.

Good luck and enjoy.

Not worried....I bought the '02 with 8k mi. I would have been happy with '06 with the 16k, but the 02 was $5k less, half the miles, and just as nice.

16,000 on an 06 ain't ****...I have an 06 andhave almost 50,000 on mine, and plan on riding mine for a while before I have to go into the engine. If it has been taken care of, go for it.

Any time I see a newer vehicle with fresh paint I get paranoid. I wonder if it was wrecked. In our state at least, if it wasn’t totaled it still has a clean title. I know – some people just like custom paint but I still wonder.
I have new paint on mine and still have the original paint set in almost perfect condition. I say almost because I scratched the rear fender installing the sissy barand once the seat screw came loose and scratched the rear fender. Had new paint installed at just under 40,000 miles.
