To Ape or Not to Ape

To Ape or Not to Ape
I have to change out my handlebbars on my Heritage. Mainly because the factory ones are not chrome and it really shows with my chrome front end.
My stock handlebars are a comfortable height for me and I would hate to lose that comfort for something that looks cooler. I want to go with chubbies and the 14s seemed comfortable but I am still undecided.
When I do this I plan to change to chrome switch housings and most likely stainless cables, along with hiding the wiring.
I can save a bunch of money by staying with the chrome replacement barsbut then they are not chubbies.

I have Wild One's 14" Chubby apes with a 2" riser.
I love them!!! Very comfortable!
I did the chrome switch housings and the ss cables.
The cables are +8 in length.

I think your stock herritage bars are 8 1/2" in height. I am running 10" wild 1 chubb's on my deluxe. Much more comfortabe than stock. I think the wild 1chubby's are also a little wider and more pull back than your stock bars. They make a 8 1/2 if you wanted to stay with the exact same height.

If you like your bars except for the fact they aren't chrome, why don't you have them chromed. Probably cheaper.

It is cheaper to buy a set of new chrome bars than it is to pay someone to chrome a part. The more parts you give a plater, the cheaper each will be, but to chrome just one set of bars is not cost effective.
The factory bars are stainless steel tubing.
