Default Got bullet smoked lenses- not that impressed

Just replaced the flat pancake smoked lenses on the back to smoked bullet lenses with the visor trim rings. The amber bulbs stand out a lot more than the previous ones to the point they dont even look that smoked.

I know people have put silverstar bulbs onbut are there any other options.Love the bullet visor ring setup but those lenses.............

Silverstar bulbs will get rid of the amber bulb look. With clear or smoked lenses the amber is going to show through and look tacky.

Here is a [pic of the wife's Street glide with the clear lenses and Silverstars.

There are a lot of LED lights that are clear but light up amber or red.
Therefore, when your light is not on you just see the smoked lense and not the amber.
But when you're driving, they light up as per regulation.

Check this out:

The 1.85 diameter LED clusters here are direct replacement bulbs too:

they will fit in the stock housings.

If you paint the back inside reflectors black, it also almost hides the amber.. but not as bright...

Thanks for that guys. The Custom Dynamics site has some bulbs that will suit. Here in Oz cant seem to find the silverstar bulbs so might just pick up some of the silver coated bulbs from CD.Anything would be better than the amber bulbs.

I have the custom dynamic silver coated amber bulbs and they will remove all the yellow form the smoked lenses but they do not illuminate nearly as bright as the non coated amber lenses.

I've got the smoked bullets...I used clear lenses..I hated the amber ones cause you can see the bulbs through the lenses even when turned off. When they flash for the directionals they are like spotlights....But I like them and no one can say they didn't see my turn signal. Just remember, most of the mods are meant to look the best when the bike is parked.

You know, I was perfectly happy with the amber bulbs (they matched the Flames on my paint) but now I'm wondering what painting the inside black would look like. Anybody have any pictures after trying this??

I would use the Silverstar bulbs, they are a little bluish chrome when off. But light up VERY bright amber when on.

They look a little amber in the pic from the flash.

But like I said they get very bright when on.
