it shouldn't cost that much unless you won't settle for anything less than an air ride system. I have a simple H-D lowering kit and it didn't cost anything close to a grand. check around man!

Yeah I was thinking about an air ride. I ride two-up a lot so I can't have the shocks be bottomed out all the time.
