When I got mine the parts guy told me that I needed that number because of the notch. When I asked him why he said that the only difference between the twowas the notch, and the notch is in there to clear some part of thechoke mechanism that sticks up. As my bike is fuel injected I don't need it and it looks better without a big notch in it.

Here's a pic of it on the bike, sorry the pic sucks. But in my defence I had to install it to take the pic and it doesn't need an extra gasket.I had to install it becasue I was in the middle of pulling the T/I cables off to put on my new Diamondback cables. As well as a few other 'winter mods'.

That one is smaller than the nostalgia cover, if you look close you can see the breather bolts sticking out from behind the edge. The nostalga cover I have has a large enough diameter to competely cover them and itsdeep enough toextend to just behind the AC backplate.

Yeah it is smaller. When I went to pick one out, I had both in my hands and choose the smaller one. I prefer the smaller one cause it opens up the engine a little more. One thing though. I had the chrome backing plate put on during the stage 1.If I didn't, the breather bolts wouldnotgo with the black/chrome look that I'm after.

Oh and Citoriplus, you've helped me more than you know with the mods I've just completed. Number 1 being the relocation of my signal lights. Thanks

Man,
You're reading my mind. I love the "skull" but hate the chrome. Did you do that yourself or send it out.

LOOKS FRICKEN GOOD.

To each his own I guess, I'm taking the stock mini apes off and putting on the HD Bombay bars with the tach housing (tach too). Alsodoing pipes, intake, TMax, plus all the 'little' detail things that I stockpiled parts for during thelast riding season.

Good Luck getting your's backtogether. With all the snow, ice, and raod salt around here I figure to have at least amonth or two before it HAS to be toghther again.

I recently picked up an '02 Heritage (fuel injected). It was already equipped with a SE air cleaner. Where can I get a round cover like that? I didn't see one at my local HD dealer.
