mini-apes on Night Train
Anyone have a Night Train with Mini-apes handlebars like the stock ones on a Soft Tail custom?
With a sissy bar installed on mine, I've already gotten away from the bad *** NT look and just looking more for comfort. Salesman at the local dealership was very helpful the other day, but is swaying me toward the Street Slammer bar.
Opinions?

What you need to check out is the "pull back" of the bars.
Those Street Slamers might be enough pull back for ya.
I didn't know this when I changed my Fat Boy bars last winter and I put on the Harley Mini apes.
But they still wasn't far enough back for me, to lean back.
I only needed two more inches back to be perfect. Now here's the warning.
Warning: HD Mini Apes are 1 1/4" bars all the way around and you will need 1 1/4" risers.
There isn't much choices with the 1 1/4" risers.
Pick out some bars that are turned down to 1" centers and you can use a wide varity of pull back risers to get them to fit you personally.

RE: mini-apes on Night Train
I guess this link is what got me thinking about the 1 1/4" mini-apes, complete list of needed parts too. Local dealer is having a 15% off parts sale coming up after Thanksgiving and I'm trying to decide which way to go. I've sat on a SoftTail; custom and actually test rode a Wide Glide...I like the feel and position of the apes. Just don't see any Night Trains around here with Fat mini's...they are either drag bars or tall apes, and I don't want to be a kite!

The Fat Mini-Ape Handlebar you have linked to does allow internal wiring which would be nice... but as noted the 1 1/2 in. dia. may limit some access. installations...
They do look very close to the same style as the Wide Glide bars I have... so if you go with those you should be able to find a comfy fit..however... the price of the Fat Mini is $199, I believe the cost of my WG bars was about $50.

RE: mini-apes on Night Train
I put the mini apes on my 07 standard when I had it. I used the risers off of an 07 wide glide cuz I really liked the look of them. I am 6'1" and pull back was fine for me when I had it combined with a C&C solo. Expensive setup though... in my opinion eve with 15 percent off.
You might look at the mini apes from Wild One chubbies.... with them you can keep your stock risers possibly with the 1 inch step down. If I recall they are 1 1/4 inch bars though.
In the end result though I did like the mini apes from harley and how they felt...
