Just an observation from watching these boards for a few months -- You see a lot of people moving from Sportsters, and a few fromDynas, onto Softails. Not much going the other way around. Once people have Softails they stick with them until they need a bagger. I don't think too many people have buyers remorse after getting a Softail. I'm not dumping on Dynas or Sportys, just making an observation.

Did any of you considered any of the Dyna's prior to settling for Softail Night Train?
Thanks
Vlad
I only have a problem with the question, how do you "settle" for any Softail?
I may not have a NT, but my Custom is close enoughto one. The up side to aCustom is that its more comfortable (better seat) especially if your significant other likes to tag along.
Almost any of the Dyna's will outrun a Softail in a hard cornering contest. But it would take a truely determined lunitic and a few laps around a road course to show any significant time advantage.
For the average or even advanced riders the actual handleing advantages would beinsignificant except for the Dyna models that have dual disks in front.
But the Softails, NT, Custom, even Heritages all bet hell out of nearly all the Dynas in the looks dept.

In any event its your money, and your choice. Get what you think you like the most cause unless you have a really fat wallet, your going to have it for a while and there's no sense getting anything your not going to be happy with6 months or a year from now.

Thanks for all your opinions guys, much appreciated.
To be honest, I love the handling and ride quality of the Street Bob, but can't go past the look of the Night Train. Softails just have that "custom" look about them. Please keep your opinions coming....

I would not trade my NT for any other HD model. It rides great and looks great. Plus I am stationed in japan and I frequiently split lanes the drag bars make it so easy to cut through traffic.

I've had mine for 5 years now, no chances of changing to anything else.

I rode a Street Bob on the test ride...came back to the Dealer loving it.....I then rode a Night Train to compare......I came back to the dealer and bought it. You won't go wrong either way....but for me the Train was the deal.

Very astute observation there Dead Eye. You have said it the best.

And Vladt you also said it very well too about how you can't go past the look of the Night Train. Softails just have that "custom" look about them”. Think of the Night Train as marrying a Stripper without any baggage (that’s impossible I know, but a guy can dream can’t he?). If the Train’s what gets your blood to pumping, then go for the Train. You won’t regret it. If you buy the Dyna, you will still look at the Night Train and drool every time you see one.

Night train all the way. I don't care if a Dyna handled like R1, I wouldn't take it over NT!
