I think most people... myself included... just figured out it was prolly a lot less hassle and cheaper (especially when the stick it to the man financing came out) to sell or trade up to the 06 or 07 (with 96 motor). I looked into it also. By the time I was ready to make a decision the 06's came out.. .then the 07's. Viola, problem solved.

Yes you can do it, you gotta change a bunch of stuff. The only difference in the 2000-2007 oe swingarm and the 200mm swing arm is some metal has been shaved off the caliper mount. The 2008 swing arm is different and I believe they changed the frame some.

Do a search for chops fat tire build. No needto go through all that trouble for just a 200.He did it with just a fender and wheel building his own struts and using the wide belt and sprocket. You don't need to spend 900 on struts as they can be had for under 450 nowadays.Easy garage project if you have any mech. ability.
Or just squeeze a 160 Metzler on there. It fills the stock fender nicley.

Don't feel bad a posted a similiar thread in the General Chat and nobody replied. Iwas contiplating going with the Heartland 250 kit but I don't like the idea of offset primary and the 3400 for the kit and indy shop quoted 36 hrs to install. They do look good on the bikes that have them though. I too found dm customs website and looked at their kits. But if all they are giving you is struts, fender, seat, spoke wheel my question was why can't I piece together that stuff and do it myself. Their kit uses stock pulley, caliper, rotor and swingarm. All you had to do is cut off the frame horns.

Thats a lot of crap to buy and big $$. I think that I would just put a 160 on it and be done.
