My first bike was a Velocette 500. Thinking back, I'm sure that a present day Springer would have been easier to learn on. Safety classes and lots of riding along togethershould do the trick.

 

Everyone is different, but thats a handful for a first machine. It wouldnt hurt to put some miles on a small street bike like a 350 or so.

My friend gave his daughter a Night Rod for her 15th birthday. She is a very tall and strong girl, she has no problem handling the bike's weight and she only rides under my friend's supervisionand company. She has riding skill,she grew up with Harleys around her but I don't know about all that engine muscle...
