Hey poorboy,
What make are your highway peg mounts?
They're from HD. # 50957-02A.

When I mounted them I cut some wire-wheel liner (rubber) to wrap between the guard and these footpeg mounts. It gave me something to bite into as I tightened everything up. The universal business-end of the mounts lets you mate what ever pegs you want. I matched new passenger pegs to go along with what I put off the guard.

This beautifullypolished and chrome-plated billet aluminum footpeg mountkit installs easily on your engine guard, and lets you stretch yourlegs on cross-country rides. Works with all H-D style male-mountfootpegs.50957-02A Fits front engine guards with 1-1/4"diameter tubing (except VRSC GuardP/N 49267-01, XL Engine GuardP/N 49060-04 or Softail® NostalgicEngine Guard P/N 49037-05). i have that gaurd on my fatboy hoping i could reach it. i'm 5'10 with a 30" inseam. i can barely reach it. i bought straight highway pegs but still couldn't reach comfortbly. i ended up getting the Longhorn offset from kuryakyn, these worked great. they are very adjustable to fit excatly how you like.

if you want some pics i'd be happy to shoot a few for you.

I am about 6ft 1 in and i have the HD nostalgic engine guard with footpegs slanted back a bit.

I can rest the bottom of my boots on the pegs comfortably but its a bit of a stretch to rest my heels on them.Sometimes i leave the pegs folded up and put my boots on the top, which is remarkably comfortable for me.

I just think the nostalgic guard, which is a bit more rounded than the normal guard suits Heritage and Deluxe models perfectly.

I'm 5'8" and I didn't like them at first, I felt like a had to squeeze my legs together to keep my feel planted on them. But since I got my backrest the mustache Engine guard is more comfortable, I think the bact rest offers more support. I also have Kuryakyn highway pegs, so I more more position options.

i agree with moggsy. if i had to redo again i would have saved my money and bought the
nostalgic engine guard and used the lonhhorns.

good luck
