lets see if I can post this pic. Any thoughts appreciated. You can see that the spring "hook" is set below the upper bracket mount , so when I mount the shield the spring clip is forced down, and not over and on, the bracket.

I seem to have misplaced my 100X magnification beer goggles. Can you blow up that pic please, I am squinting soo hard trying to see that pic I farted. Thank you.

That's not right, but I'm not sure what to tell you to do.
The springs should be high enough to slip over the bolt when pushing on.

Your spring configuration looks different from mine. But I have a 2003 Fatty. But even so, I would guess that the spring clip you have is out of position.

yeah , after reading thisthread I am beginning to think that this is the problem , when I put on shield the spring is forced down below the bolt ... gets back to my original thought that this came out of the wrong parts bin, so off to the dealer next opportunity.
