I got a really good deal on an 05 Fatboy and loved it but I really wanted a Heritage. I kept the Fatboy for a yearbut just had to have a Heritage. So I bought an 08 Heritage and couldn't be happier. You will feel the same way no matter which one you choose. Win, Win either way.

 

I went to the dealer to buy my first bike.... FatBoy.....After a couple of visits I was soooooo bent on a Deluxe. My son kept telling me Heritage becauseI really wanted bags and a windshield. after a half dozen visits to sit on each one I was depressed (didn't like the studded saddle bags on the Heritage; but now that I have had them for a while they are ok)because my the Heritage fit me best. Heritage was also the best value. So guess what I'm riding - and LOVING it.

I started to lean toward the road kings but I have to have the counter balanced engine that is only on the softails so the road kings were out.

No matter what you get you will still want the other model. It's the harley sickness. cheers

Oh My, I had the same dilemma, but how can you resist, you know you want it............DELUXE!

Hidalgo. I prefer the Heritage, but didn't like the mini apes. They came back too far and the Deluxe bars are even worse. The FatBoy bars felt right so I bought a Heritage and had FB bars put on it.
I then got the same arrangement Dinger has and love it.

to this in under 10 minutes. Best of both worlds. I could also put the windshield on but after riding over 40 years without one they feel like having sex with a condom.



PS: Dinger, where'nt you the guy that was putting new tin on your bike. Have you still got a pic of the old tin?

Gosh Guys.....I'm eternally grateful for all the responses. Still got a decision to make, and I'm still confused. But in all honesty, I'm leaning towards the Heritage, with the Deluxe still in the mix. The ergonomics of the FatBoy just don't feel right to me, for some reason.

Once again...THANK YOU for all the info and opinions. It really helps to hear from owners.

 

choose the bike that best fits comfort wise , then accessorise like there aint no tomorrow to make it "yours". in this forum there are FB's that look like HE's, Deluxes like He's , HE's like Deluxes, and so on .....grzly
