Got my 504's the other day.Looking for any good deals on SS braided cables now. But, can I really just go with stock lengths? Wild-1 says stock is good, but i'd rather hear it from someone's past experience.

 

I have them on my 05 fatboy, fit great with stock cables and wiring.

 

Ive got the 504's on my 06 Fatboy and I used stock lengh cables and I havent had one problem at all. I would even say with pull back risers you probably would be just fine.

did you guys switch over to SS braided? If so, did you go with HD, Barnett, Magnum, etc...

 

Ronyd I switch to the 504's and the stock cables worked, But the clutch was a little long Brake a little short ... and still waiting on the H.D. Diamond Back cables.. Last 3 or 4 bikes were Apes...Love the 504 Bars ...

I switched over to SS cables, mine are Barnett. The stock brake line will need to be straitend out a little to work with the 504's but if you switch to SS on the brake line youll be just fine.

Nice choice in bars. That was my second choice before going to 10" apes. This is were I bought my cables. Great service, good price. He also sells the bars, so he will guide you right for length.

thankx "05 HD Deluxe" for the link. Is everyone happy with SSor is it just appearance that the Diamond Back has a chrome like finish? I guess I could go over to HD stealer and take a look at SS vs. Diamond Back.

 

I was looking at going diamond back or the same under the barnet brand. After seeing the stainless and thinking about how the chrome looking cables may look or take away from the chrome bars I am glad I went with the stainless. I did use the wild1 bar clamp with the hidden bolts on a 1 1/2" chubby riser. Really like the look.
Are you installing the 504's on the stock pull back risers or changing the risers out ? I think they look better on a 11/2" riser IMO.
