Thanks for the compliments everyone!

Bluedeuce: I honestly couldn't be happier with the Rineharts. The sound is a nice, deep "rumble" and when you really get on the throttle they can get pretty loud. I was actually on a ride with my dad and he's got V&H longshots with the baffles removed and he said he could hear me behind him. Don't get me wrong, they're not offensively loud, but you can easily let people know you're coming. As for their performance, they can't be beat.

There is actually a pretty accurate soundclip of the Rinehart pipes on their website. Just click this link and as the page loads you should hear a sample. Of course it's not 100% like hearing it in the flesh, but it's close: http://www.rinehartracing.com/

Krenshaw, what kind of ride and suspension travel loss did you experience with your lowering kit?
I'm assuming you went with the shocks over the studs.
I'm a big guy who weighta almost 270, and I am afraid if I lower it, i'll lose too much travel.
Thanks.

Hey George,

I actually went with the studs from H-D. I took a gamble with it because the price was right. I figured, for about $80 bucks I can give it a try and if I don't like it, then I can cough up the dough for the all-out adjustable rear. It's only lowered about a 3/4 inch and I'm pretty happy with it at the current height. Good maneuverability with the wheel nicely tucked into the fender.

In all honesty, I really didn't lose too much suspension travel. You've got me by about 40 pounds on the weight factor, but I seriously haven't had any bottoming-out or susp. travel concerns as of yet. Ride quality was, I would say, minimally reduced. I feel bumps in the road only a little bit more than stock, but it's not even remotely close to being unbearable.

If you're thinking of lowering, I would give some thought to using the studs.
