The bags are held on by 4 spring clips, so you can take the bags off for cleaning or to take inside. The braket stays on the bike and wouldnt look to good with the bags off. You can always take the bracket off if you wanted to. I scraped about 4 times, but my other bike is a sportster and I just need to remember I cant go around corners as fast as the Sportster. I dont ride 2-up so I cant report on it.

I'm 5'10 and wouldn't want to be taller on mine. I did a couple 4 hour rides last summer and would like to have the bars moved forward (or my *** back) an inch or two. Hoping to find a riser that is a little shorter but retains the stock look, I like the logo on the original. I did read where someone took their stock seat to an upholsterer and had a better grade of foam put in which allowed them to reshape it thinner getting them an inch. I put the mustache engine guards on and use them to stretch my legs on longer rides, helps a lot. Lots of options, you'll like the bike. I tend to grind floorboards on a regular basis, too many years riding sport bikes though, my fault not the bikes.

Pigdog, don't want to hijack the thread but another question on the bags. Can you get a half helmet in them and how big of a pain is it to remove the mounts? I really like the look of the bags in your pics, nice job.

I havent done the helmet test, but I dont think it will fit. I'll try tonight. They are fairly narrow. To take the whole bracket off would not be that big a deal. You would just have to remove 4 screws that go into the fender strut. The bags come off real easy with the spring clips. The bags come in black also.

my German DOT helmet does fit in the bag. So it should be no problem.
