Faster than goodsense should allow, and probably faster than your guardian angel is willing to fly.

Why the hell does this subject come up so often?...personally,if I wanted a fast bike,I wouldnt have bought a Harley.....that said mine goes too damned fast for me...had it up to 90mph a cpl times(with plenty of throttle left)and,if I need to go that fast again,i guess I will be late getting there...:&gt

yes had my 07 fxstc up to 95mph then my nerve ran out, think the bike could have gone faster.dont think i will be going that fast again 70-75 seems plenty quick enough on the highway to me.

Dealer told me my 96cub 2008 fat boy was good for 130mph

Don't believe it but it sits nice a 80 without a flinch.

Thank you all ...I did have it up to about 85-90 and slowed it back down before i tried to top it more. I think the biggest prob was the wind resistance of my own body being upright with the apes. I was just wondering if that was about right fora 97' stock Evo. and based on the responsesI guess it is. I wasn't trying to compair it to a 96ci FI (whichshould actually do about 130mph. Told by someone I know whorides an 07' fatboy). I wouldnt want a 200 mph Hayabusa either....lol my angel is hanging on to the back fender as it is.
Ps. Eagle, let that 6 speed wind out in 5th andsee what happens.

I got my stock 07 deluxe up to 115mph in 6th. It didn't feel wound out but it wouldn't pull anymore either (the road was slightly upgrade). I think it might actually have a higher top speed in 5th gear I'll have to investigate it some time when I find a straight stretch of highway with no traffic.
