I like to see if anyone else has experienced cracking in the sidewall of the front tire for the Deuce. I have owned my 2003 Deuce from Aug. of 2002. At 3,200 miles (Dec. of 2004) I had to change out the factory Dunlop tire due to cracking in the sidewall of the front tire. I replaced the tire at the dealership with another HD Dunlop 21 inch tire. Now at 5,800 (2,600 miles later) the sidewall is cracking again.

The bike is kept in a garage along with my 2007 Road Glide. The rear tire of the Deuce is fine and does not show any signs of cracking. Looking at the Dunlop website, Dunlop motorcycle tires have a warranty for 72 months. There are stipulations to the warranty. But I am going to contact the dealership concerning the cracking in the sidewalls. I thought the first time I replaced the tire it was a fluke but the same issue the second time has me wondering. I might be switching to the Michelin tire.

 

Get it fixed quick , had a good driend that had that problem and he went down hard with his lady on a sweeper.

 

It seems to be common amongst the thin front tires. I have a 2004 Deuce with about 7k on the front tire and it has the fine cracking. My dealership says it's not a problem..

 

Replace it now... Dont wait..

 

The bike is going in tomorrow to get a new front tire. I wonder if the Michelin that HD sells will crack as well?

 

I would recommend to try and ride the thing once in a while . LOL

 

I run Metzler's on my Deuce - no problems with cracking at all - very pleased.

 

Wonder if your dealer would say that if they were riding it?

 

If your dealership says its fine. Ask them to put it in writing. I'll bet it won't be fine for long.
