Default thunderheader on stage1 efi softail

I have been to several dealerships or should I say stealerships lately and was inquiring about installing a thunderheader on my bike. Everyone of them told me a different story . One j*ck*ss wanted 1500bucks. He said I needed to use the race tuner and have them custom map and dyno tune. Since I will be installing the ness big sucker and pipes myself can Iget away with the DFO device and tune it myself without any problems? I mean come on the bike is bone stock for now . I have done tons of jetting and tuning in the past with some of my previous engines. I can read a plug , generally tell when it,s tuned properly. Unlike the factory setup thats way to lean for my taste.

Go to www.partsthatfithd.com and buy the TH there. They have the cheapest prices on aftermarket parts. Install them yourself. Talking less than a dozen standard sized bolts. Then go buy a Powercommander. Save yourself a ton of money. HD fuel injected reflashes SUCK. They are poor canned maps, and there is a 50% chance your bike will work less than optimally with a reflash.

Default thanks for the info

So I guess you prefer the powercommander over the DFO for this application. I think I,m getting the DFO as agift this year though. I know the powercommander will support serious performance upgrades. Will the DFO be cool for now until I get the cash for a serious build?

I did a kerker 2 into 1 with a power commander and a big sucka! Great stuff. Bought the Power Commander for 270.00 buck from an online bike shop near Baltimore MD. I only paid 125.00 for my pipe. Have you looked online at any of the online bike shops to get a better price for the Thurnderheader?
