Rear 5.5 wheel for FXST2000?
I'm considering buying a wide 5.5 rear wheel for my FXST 2000. MegaHD and others really inspire me ).
However I would prefer 16" as it looks more classic to me (small fat rear, big narrow front). I just found several nice deals on ebay for new 16 x 5.5 under $160
The application says:
APPLICATIONS OF THIS WHEEL:
THIS IS A DUAL FLANGE WIDE REAR WHEEL FOR WIDE FRAME APPLICATIONS.
1986-99 STYLE REAR HUB FEATURES A .900" EXTENSION TO MINIMIZE PULLEY SPACERS AND THE BEARING IS MOVED OUTBOARD TO PREVENT BENT AXLES.
· 3/4" TIMKEN BEARINGS
· DUAL FLANGE WITH 7/16" AND 3/8" HOLES

The question is, do you think it fits into my 2000 FXST stock swing arm?

RE: Rear 5.5 wheel for FXST2000?
You cant do a 16x5.5" rim on a softail. Your brake caliper assembly will not clear and hit the outer edge of the rim. If you want to go 5.5" wide, you need an 18" diameter rim to clear the stock caliper. Ifyour going to do a 16" rim you will have to keep it 16x3.5"

That's interesting. I did not thing about it. But it seems reasonable.
If we talk about 16x3.5, which is not standard for FXST do you think I can use for my FXST 2000 the following:
The same ebay seller offers: 1984-99 16" X 3.5" 60 SPOKE REAR WHEEL FOR HARLEY DAVIDSON
THIS IS A DUAL FLANGE REAR WHEEL AND WILL FIT FXR, FLST, FLSTC, FXST, FLSTF, FLSTN, DYNA, NIGHTRAIN, DEUCE, SPRINGER AND XL 1984-1999.
. 16" X 3.5" 60 SPOKE
· HIGH POLISHED BILLET HUB
· HIGH POLISHED STAINLESS STEEL SPOKES
· TRUED AND READY FOR INSTALLATION
· DUAL FLANGE WITH 7/16" AND 3/8" HOLES

Is there any difference in rear wheel between FXST 1999 and 2000?
Thanks.

thanks. and when you look at the picture below. does it look like mounting for FXST 2000 ? and also the spec DUAL FLANGE WITH 7/16" AND 3/8" is ok?
Sorry for all these questions I just bought fxst 2000 and know that I want to do something with rear tire before I return to Europe next spring. After that access to all accessories will be limited and twice as expensive as here )

RE: Rear 5.5 wheel for FXST2000?
Thanks Mega, I'll give him an email and see what he can get. I'm deceiding on getting either an 18x5.5 or just getting a used Deuce wheel for cheap and running a 180 Screamin Eagle rear tire. Seems like I'd need a diferenet caliper (made for a Deuce)with the Deuce wheel and I'd be able to use the stock caliper with the 18x5.5, so if it ends up being only a little more to fet the 18x5.5 vs the Deuce wheel and caliper, I'll go with the larger rim for more posibilities down the road.
