Can anyone let me know how the open air filters handle heavy dust / sand.I live in the Middle East and the air can get pretty heavy with dust storms.

It would be fine if you got one of the covers I was tellin' 08fxstb about. They help with dust as well as rain.

I was told by my local HD parts/service dealer that if I replaced my Air Filter on my 2008 Night Train, I would need some sort of "racing module" ($500+) due to the fact that they do not re-map ECM on 2008's. I currently have the stock Air Filter w/ V&H Big Radius pipes.

Is this true?
Thanks!

I'm gonna say that's BS. I have the same exact setup on my '07 Night Train. They put the 1690 Stage 1 download and everything seems fine to me. The only thing is decel popping but you can control that.

I think you would need some type of fuel management system such as the Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner, Power Commander, Thundermax, or other system. The reason is when you change the air cleaner, you'll be pulling in more air which will lean out the bike.

Screamin' Eagle Heavey Breather on mine. I had the dealer hook it up with wrinkle black.

I have an '08 FB and what the dealer said about no re-mapping for '08s is BS. Had mine done even before I took it off the lot. Bike runs like a charm.

Anyone use one of these? They are less expensive than the wimmer machine one's.

Would one of these fit on my 07 Night Train? And what mounting barackets would I need to make it work?

I want to get one of the 90 degree air cleaners like the wimmer machine, force winder, power flow or even the SE Harley one butI am still a little confused by what/how theycan be used on my 07 when most of the air cleaners say they are for 06's. I've read it's all about the mounting brackets and that I need another companies brackets to make them work.

Arlen Ness Billet Sucker (Stage II). It's bigger than the Big Sucker. I have some small photos in my gallery.

That air cleaner is about $100 more than the Wimmer.
