Well it went. Mostly poor planning on my part I guess. My brother I were the only 2 on the trip so we kinda changed plans. We road out 1187 to 377, took it all the way through Granbury. Took route 4 all the way back to 174 through Joshua and on it to Burleson. I rode on back to Arlington via 1187/287. All total it was about 140 miles round trip. Not a bad first long ride. Did learn a few lessons I dont mind sharing.
1. Sun block is your friend
2. Standard softail seat is much more comfy than the Badlander
3. Gravel sucks

here's a tip/suggestion.have a plan, give a few weeks notice, set up rides for earlier in the day.2:00 pm is in the middle of day, figure in heat and sun and it does'nt sound real appealing here in texas, scout the ride ,noting gas stations, food, phone sevice, construction etc.a start point,a route, and end point plans are mandatory for success and participation.if you build it,they will come.

I'm still interested as well. Totally bad day for me, I was sick, I had to babysit, and I was packing for a business trip on Sunday. The good thing is that they all happened the same day. There are enough of us in the metroplex, we could get a good group together.

In all seriousness I would love to get a nice ride together and Mr. Hammond had some great advice and it will be put to good use.I usually am decent at this sorta thing but got a little ahead of myself. This being my first season being back in the states im note sure of the roads and lcoations. My next attemp will be more detailed I promise.
