The bike is ok, but I'd rather have the garage.

I use to want a wide tyre for my train, I don't know now, to me it just doesn't look right any more, $7000+ Just kills the thought completely

Wide is subjective. I have a 200. I think that’s wide. That’s wider than most any sport bike. It’s plenty of wide for me. I think it looks good without being monstrous and without the cost of a 240/250.

By wide I mean 240/250. I think the 200 is plenty wide too

Yeah, that extra $40-50 really breaks the bank.
BTW, once you ride a 240 tired bike for a while, 240 doesn't seem wide anymore.

Is it? How long do they last?

I was going to go with a 190 on mine for the clearance but all the 190s I found were sport tires and my RC51 was lucky to get 5k miles out of a 190. The Dunlop 200 I have now is supposed to have a harder compound in the center for extended range. I'm hoping at least 10k miles.

How long does a 240/250 generally last you?

I have learned on this forum that tire mileage is not a very good gauge. Some people get 12k out of a tire, while others report 3k out of the same tire. I will say that the 240 on my Breakout seems to wear at a similar rate to the 140 that was stock on my Blackline. I will probably get 7-8k out of it if I wait that long.

Funny, but thats definitely true!

240/250 is as wide as I'll go on a HD.

Seen 280's on rigid choppers that look okay, but can't get into the 300+ on any bike.

Might as well buy a different bike if your modding that heavily to change a 140-200mm to a 250mm+...

Also, for the record, I hate dead thread revivals of 7 years ago.
