RE: wide tire (240+) on NT
kylant,
I felt exactly the same - I was not likin' the stock rear fender. Yes the heartland kit is a bit pricey, but by far the best mod Ive done. t-robb can speak more about the 200 kit (which looks sick, btw). I am extemely happy with my 250 upgrade. A lot of stuff involved in the transformation, but well worth it. Good luck with your decision.
jimb, your bike - very nice!! more pics.

TTLPAKG - that is a great looking bike, simple colours and really neat. That 250 looks absolutley spot on at the rear. Cannot see the point of buying a Rocker when the base Softails can be made to lookthis good. BTW how much did the transformation set you back ?

thanks guys,
ttlpakg,
awesome, that is exactly what i want to do. by the time i get the bike and do a kit like that, it would be just about the same price as a rocker, but i think this looks way better. [sm=shades.gif]
did you do all the work or did you have it done?

OK TTL
That is a sic looking bike. But the problem I have is and I am sure most of the members here will agree is that your garage floor is way to clean. If my Ol took a peek at this forum and saw this post most of us would be having another project for this winter.I believe a major interventtion from this forum is indeed needed here to help out the rest of the Brothers here to help us to either A: Clean our chit up or B; Clean our chit up. Again nice ride(what ever).

Appreciate all the comments, gents. I cant tell you all how happy I am with it.
I dont have the skills to do the work myself, so I had the shop do a lot of stuff at one time, but for just the kit to be installed, it ran close to $7k. Now thats with rim (upgraded), tire, fender (painted), swingarm, offset hardware, struts, seat, lights, lic plate and a few other small stuff. Like I said, a bit pricey!! However, I forget about the price when I'm ridin' though.
4goose,
I obviously spend a lot of time in my garage - can you tell?? The bike deserves to have a nice place to sleep too. Ive been known to tuck it in at night and read it a bed time story too. My obsession with cleanliness is about as bad as my obsession is with bikes (OCD). I know.... it sucks!!
