Default Tires on 07 Fatboy

I recently picked up a large nail in my rear tire. Before I fork out the dough, I was wondering if anyone has changed from the original tires to a different name brand? I really don't like the stock tires ( noise is the big reason ), and I would love to have a more quick responding tire for handling. I have also lowered it in the front and back. Any recomendations from you Fatyboy owners?? Thanks.

Get a Metzler 210, its a better, stickier tire. It won't last as long as the rock like Dunlops, but they do stick to the pavement better.

They are hard for a reason, the bike is heavy and with the torque at hand a "stickier" tire would be toast in no time. I really appreciate the stock tires since I split lanes every day for several miles and thosesteel markers on the road are handled with no problem. My rear and front tires still have plenty of thread @ 9,800 miles.

Whateve size you get... if you are still under Warranty be carefull.
I like Metzler's ME 880's I have 18" wheeles and have a 160 on the back and a 140 is going on the front... real soon it has a 120.

According to the Metzler catalogI have (burried someplace around here), not the web site, its WAY out of date, the MEtzler 210/50ZR17M is what they calla "Stage 1" upgrade replacement for the stock 200/55R17 Dunlop.
They classify it as a "Stage 1" because it is the largest tire that will fit thestock rimwith no modifications needed for either clearance or speedo calibration.

the local Indie shop here in Canton just told me the Metz 210 went on a 2007 Nightrain
I have a 2007 FXSTSSE and I'm going with Metz front and rear over the winter down time up here . I think they are ME 880 's
