Default No rear brake light

Not sure on where to start to diagnose this. No rear brake light when I depress the brake pedal. The rear break lights DO WORK when I pull the handle bar brake lever?
Parking lights (when ignition is on) and turn signals all work fine.

Not a fuse issue.

Check the wires at the rear brake light switch, make sure there is no damage.

Read voltage at the Orange/White wire, what is it?

Bad brake switch? I've had to replace mine, and I've read of several others with failed rear switches.

I'm going to say more than likely it's going to be the brake light switch. They get hot, especially when you have exhaust running down along the bottom of the bike where it's at. You can bypass it with a paper clip and check it. You tube has videos on how to check it like that.

Looks simple enough. With the scoot being 17 years old and over 105,000 miles I'm just going to replace the switch and go from there.

Thanks

Chances are highly likely that will fix it. Easy enough to verify though, you should have 12 volts on one of the switch wires, when you depress the brake pedal the other wire should also have 12 volts.
