2006 harley softtail heritage low speed dead miss ?
I have an 2006 heritage with 13,000 miles on it. I have replaced the fuel regulator and filter, spark plugs and set gap at.40 then replaced the cam sensor. Cleaned the ground conections and unplugged the computer and sprayed electrical cleaner in the plug and computer conection and pluged it back in. Rotated and pulled the coil wires on and off to make sure it had a good connection When slowing down to ride through town it's like it has a dead miss around 45 MPh. You can change gears and it will still miss. Some times it will miss regularly and other times it will miss every couple 100 ft and then it my not miss for a mile or 2. You can gas it and take off normally and run up to 100 mph and it runs smooth as silk. No problem. It's just when you try to ease around town. And some times when you stop at a red light it want idle. It dies. This bike is fuel injected. Please Help!!

@Skipper Guillot I have moved this thread from the Welcome section to the Softail Models section as you will get better responses to your question in this section.
The Welcome section is more for introducing yourself & letting other forum members know what Harley Davidson you own. Please feel free to post a new thread back in the Welcome area to introduce yourself.

Has any hidden modifications been done that render it non stock like a tuner, exhaust ECT?
How long you had it?
Have you read the codes thrown? A 2006 if missing will set codes you read out on the speedometer display.
Obviously this bike has set a lot. Completely stock, the idle rpm is fairly lean and is dependent on full fuel pressure and throttle position sensor. However, at that low an rpm and speed, that's low gear.
What did the inside of the tank look like? Where did you get the replacement parts? What brand and number plugs?
Guess there is no Tac so you know what rpm it's missing at?
PS. For sure, Welcome to the HDFORUM.

The plugs came from Harley. It does not have a tuner. It has screaming Eagle pipes that i put on the day I got it new. 1 code for the fuel gage that works sometimes and sometimes not. It will not idle at all when cold. The fuel regulator and filter came from JP Cycle. It does have a after market fuel pump from E bay. The tank is clean inside and the screen is clean.

Just guessing here especially that it won't idle is either the step iac valve motor is hanging up or there is some crud around the butterfly opening which is have your air for idle.
People spray throttle body cleaner in there and it washes crud bast o ring in that little motor and can kill temperature sensor and Idle position.
Remove air filter. Look up inside throttle body. Key on, that pointer opens up for idle air. Key off, it jumps back.
If it's hanging, when you throttle off, mixture may a that low rpm not have enough air for fuel spray from injectors.
What or were at are you calling the cam sensor?

What is the code number you saw? Never seen a code for Fuel Gage.
That part you called the cam sensor is called the crank sensor. I assumed that's what you were referring too.. Just wanting to make sure.
First year or so of TC, Harley did have a cam sensor behind the faux timer cover.
What condition is your drive belt in? Any road hazard damage on it?
With those aftermarket parts, need to check for 60 - 65 psi fuel pressure running. Needs that for idle and 100 mph.

Update for the 06. Fuelpressure is 55-62.
If you happen to have a clip on timing light, that's an easy way to determine fuel or electrical for miss.
Not a fan of spinning sparkplug wires. Might want to ohm check them.
Front = 4750-11,230. Rear = 1812-4375
What voltage is battery showing? Cut key on for one minute and then off before checking.
What voltage is it showing cranking and then at 2000 rpm?

I have replaced the drive belt. Had a rock inbeded in it. I sprayed and cleaned throttle body and replaced the air filter. Still missing 😕 . Pored a bottle of sea foam in full take of gas and run it through it. Still missing! I've ordered a fuel pressure gage with a long hose and a magnetic on the back of the gage so I can ride it and check fuel pressure. I will try and check battery voltage tomorrow.
