Default 2008 Herritage Softail Overcharging

A few weeks ago, my buddy and I were out riding when my engine light came on in my 08 Heritage. I took it home pulled up the codes PO563 and BO563 as well as b1007. all codes me
"High Voltage Output". so looking into it further I found my voltage regulator putting out between 16-17 volts. I did the check on the stator all good. so I ordered a new regulator from Harley.
I put the new regulator in and the same problem overcharging. But the weird thing is. when I put the meter on it at an idle all good. charging perfect, when I put it up to 2600 rpm it still says good for about 10-15 seconds then jumps to 16-17 and stays there. My battery was dead for some reason after I put the new regulator in. (I fully charged the battery and put it on a battery tester that said it was good and checked the volts holding 12.99). Still the same issue. but now my dash has a v in err on it. I called Harley they said make sure it's not a ground. the regulator uses the bike as its ground. so I sanded everywhere the regulator touches the bike. still the same issue. I'm at a loss.

Check the electrical system grounds..... Anywhere a ground wire is attached to the frame... check both the connections and the wires/connectors themselves...

The most frequent one on a softail is the battery negative where it connects to the frame forward of the battery and under the seat. If that gets loose, all sorts of issues will pop up...

But while you are at it, check all grounds to the frame and positive cables too

I wouldn't ride it too much until you figure out the issue.. the battery/regulator/stator triangle are dependent on each other. An undiagnosed and fixed problem with one of the three, can damage one or both of the other two....

Check your battery and connects. Loose battery connections or a shorted battery will fool regulator.

Can a bad Fuel pump cause that issue?

Your initial diagnosis has found an electrical issue....

The codes point to an electrical issue, and you have measured some very high (abnormal) voltages in your charging circuit.

Follow the evidence, don't start jumping around...

You need to figure out the documented electrical issue, then go from there if you suspect another issue too.....

Default Problem Found

I traced all the wires. I mean took my gas tank off my dashboard. Took the battery out. Had the battery tested. Everything. Could not find a broken wire. Called a friend of mine told me to keep looking. Well it turned out to be, when I bought the bike it had a Harley mount for a garmin Harley Davidson GPS. It was mounted on the handlebar and it powered the gos unit when you locked it in. I took it off the bike and everything went back to normal. It must of been bad. It was wired directly to the fuse box. I even wired my multimeter to the bike and took it down the road. I beat on it put it up 80mph put it in overdrive. It never went over 13,39 volts. Thank you to all for the suggestions.

Default Not fixed

Well took the bike out today with my buddies for a ride. It was doing well then on the last hour or so on the way home. It started throwing the engine light again. I’m at a loss. Any aftermarket external I put on is off or disconnected. I don’t know what hit is. My last thought is it’s the stator. Have to wait for it to cool down before I start looking again.
