brake light staying on after lever release, what gives!!
I have just recently noticed that my brake light stays on sometimes after I have released the front brake. I have to push out on or wiggle the brake lever to get it to go out. When I use the rear brake there is no problem. What's broke or needs adjusted to make this problem go away?
Thanks for your help!!!

My first guess is that the switch in the grip may have some dirt in it and not moving freely.
You probably shouldtake the switch assembly apart to clean it out, just to eliminate that possibility.
Beware, I have been told that its comes apart a lot easier than it goes together.

did you change your levers to chrome or other aftermarket?
when I changed mine to chrome I snapped off the brake tab by accident....
had to go to HD to get the part...@$3.00?...
but some wire cutting is involved....
anyway... I had the same symptoms as you....
and now it's fixed....
good luck..

Scott,
If you haven't taken anything apart or dropped the bike on that side its more than likely going to be a sticking plunger. If the switch was truely bad it probably wouldn't work at all, or stay on all the time. But a sticking plunger will let the light go on, but it might not always let it go off until the engine or road vibration's knock it loose.
I think your going to have to take it apart and clean things out. If you have some tuner cleaner you might try pulling off the bottom housing coverto try spray that or a little (very little) WD-40 in to clean and lube it up a bit.

Here some photos of one that was completely destroyed. Reason for this I did not listen to the service manual and put a shim inbetween the lever and switch housing when installing - I do not recall the shim size at this time - get a manual it is a must... any way here is what the switch looks like

the boot should enclose the switch on a good/new one
